
Should you decide to build, remodel, add to or do any type of construction to your home, please be advised that you must have a city issued permit before you begin such work. The cost of a permit is dependent upon the type of work to be done and the value of the job. If you are using a contractor, that contractor must be registered, provide proof of insurance and have a performance bond posted with the city. More details can be obtained by contacting 658-4175.
Alarm Permits:
Alarm permits are required if you have an alarm system installed and activated in your home. This includes systems that are not monitored by an alarm company. These permits can be obtained at City Hall. If during any permit year, an alarm site emits more than five (5) false alarms, a fee of $25.00 will be assessed to the permit holder for the sixth and subsequent alarms. A database is kept by the Police Dept. and renewal reminders will be sent out yearly. This permit must be renewed on a yearly basis.
